Okay, some of you might be thinking, I saw that post
yesterday, but I don’t understand basic HTML, WordPress or anything else. How can I go about getting a great WAH career
if I don’t know these things and do not have the money for training? Today’s topic is on finding training for free
online. I’m going to cover one specific
website, but if there is a skill you want to learn, research it. You may be surprised what you find for free
online, at your local library or other local establishments. Even if the free program doesn’t cover all
the ins and outs you need, it will get you a beginner’s grasp on what you want
to learn, and possibly save you some money in the long run as you may not have
to pay for a beginner’s course. Free is
one of my favorite words because that means I don’t have to add money to my
budget for what I make in a month. The
tool that I’m introducing is Codecademy.
I’ve been teaching myself HTML through this,
and that is just the beginning. This website
is wonderful. It has easy lessons that
act as building blocks. Each lesson will
build onto the next lesson you take. You
go at your own pace, and can repeat lessons that you may feel that your
learning was off the first time around.
The best part is it’s free to sign up.
This is not just for HTML, but will also help you get started with Java,
PHP, Python, Ruby and APIs. Think of
this as the perfect way to determine if coding is right for you without having
to pay a hefty fee. Have a skill you
want to learn, but not sure where to look for information on free courses? Send me a message, and I’ll feature it for
you.
