Welcome to Why I WAH

When I was thinking of an appropriate name for my blog, I decided on Why I WAH for the simple reason that I'm not only trying to be successful at working from home, but I want to help others do the same. It is not always easy to work from home no matter what anyone says. You have to have the drive and dedication to getting the job finished. Many times you will not have a boss breathing down your neck to finish an assignment. So, you also have to think about why you want to WAH, as well, and hold that close to give you the perseverance to work at it.

Create My Tattoo

Today’s post is more of a creative theme to show that it’s not only people that have marketable computer skills making money through WAH, but you can find niches that fit your talent.  This website is called CreateMyTattoo and offers an opportunity for artists to get paid for designing tattoos.  There are two ways for a tattoo artist to be paid.  One is by submitting their drawings and being paid a 75% commission when a user to the site picks their tattoo design to purchase.  The other is through a contest that is set up by customers requesting a specific concept where a prize is offered, and the customer picks the design that they like the most.  The winning tattoo artist receives the prize.

It is free to sign up to participate with the website.  It is also free to submit your designs.  In the marketplace, you get to decide what the sale price is, keeping in mind that you will get 75% of the price you determine.  Contests offer an 85% commission on your win.  Plus, you only pay a fee if your work sells or you win a contest.  Your work is still your property, so you decide how long you want to keep it on the site.  Also, your work can be sold as often as someone is interested in buying and it’s still on the site.  Even better, if you submit a design to a contest that doesn’t win, you are then free to put it up on the marketplace.  They pay monthly on the 1st for your previous month’s sales, but if you do not have $25.00 in your account it will roll over until the next month.  They pay through PayPal only.

Pros –

  • Creative work
  • Can be done from anywhere and any country
  • Only pay fees when design is selected
  • Can fit in any schedule
  • Pays monthly by PayPal on the first of the month
  • Low pay threshold of $25.00

Cons –

  • Not everyone is talented in drawing
  • Designs may not sell
  • No guarantee of income

This is a great opportunity for someone that is creative and good with drawing.  Now, this probably wouldn’t be something that I could do myself, but I know plenty of creative people that could really impress others with their skill.  To me, this one is low risk high reward since there are no upfront fees to pay.
