Not every WAH opportunity makes you sit in front of a
computer or talk on the phone for hours.
There are some companies that pay individuals to pass out samples, put
up displays and put out merchandise.
Today’s post is about a company that pays people to put up gift card
displays. The Blackhawk
Network is hiring for retail merchandisers in several different districts
for part-time work. The schedule is
about fifteen to seventeen hours a week, but may fluctuate depending on the
demands of the season. For instance, it
can be easy to imagine that Christmas and graduation months may require more
hours because of the high demand for gift cards at those times of the year, but
I’m sure they would keep you informed as to when the busy and slow times may be
for their particular company. Work is
completed usually during the weekdays, but some weekends may occur. Also, merchandisers may have night or
overnight work depending on where they are located. They do require some retail experience,
technical skills, communication skills, day availability, and the ability to be
flexible. You also need to be able to
lift up to 30 pounds, have a computer with internet and a printer, valid
license, car insurance and the ability to travel in your territory.
Pros –
- Flexible scheduling
- Part-time work
- Ability to socialize
Cons –
- Not full-time
- Travel required
- Advertisement does not specify pay and other pertinent details
Overall, this type of position could be wonderful for
someone that is looking for WAH, but does not want to be isolated sitting in
front of a computer. The flexible hours
could be a plus for someone with other obligations, such as attending college
classes. I want to hear from my
readers. Have you had a chance to work a
position at the Blackhawk Network or similar company? Did you apply to this one? Let us know your experience.
