Welcome to Why I WAH

When I was thinking of an appropriate name for my blog, I decided on Why I WAH for the simple reason that I'm not only trying to be successful at working from home, but I want to help others do the same. It is not always easy to work from home no matter what anyone says. You have to have the drive and dedication to getting the job finished. Many times you will not have a boss breathing down your neck to finish an assignment. So, you also have to think about why you want to WAH, as well, and hold that close to give you the perseverance to work at it.

I have found in my personal life that not only do you have to deal with the issue of finding great WAH positions, but you also have to deal with other people's opinions on what you are doing. These can range from people thinking that you are being scammed because that's the only thing available in WAH opportunities to you can sit at the beach sipping frou-frou drinks as the money pours in. They may also think that you are wasting your time with working these positions. That you would be better off trying to find a position at regular company because WAH will never account to anything in the long run. Some people may think that because you have a position that you can work at anytime then you are able to get everything else done before you take the time to work, such as cleaning the house or running errands. Many will be negative about what you are trying to accomplish, but if this is what you really want stick with it. After spending all this time on WAH I have to say that I don't relish the thought of ever having to go back to working 9-5 in an office. That culture is just not for me. If you are reading this then it's a good possibility that it's not for you either.

The truth of the matter is that what they think is probably not right. As discussed in the scam post not every WAH is a scam, but it pays to be cautious. Also, WAH positions are sometimes harder than those in traditional places of employment. You are in charge of deciding everything, from when you work to what type of work you want to take. Also, if you don't spend any time working, then you are not going to be paid. This can bring about a lot of stress. When you add this to the external stress you may be getting from friends and loved ones it can be tough. Having a tough skin can help if you are like that. Letting others know exactly what your thoughts are on what you are personally doing might also help. By letting them know you have a plan of action it might impress them enough that you understand exactly what you are getting yourself into. It can be tough to handle WAH jobs, but having a game plan can really help.
