Depending on your situation it can take a while to break into a WAH position that pays well right off the bat, especially if you are unable to work phone positions or your skills do not relate well to computer work. Even if you have a great idea for your own home based business having these other options can come in handy. Many WAH opportunities pay a small amount per piece work. Basically what this breaks down to is that the amount of time you put into it will relate to how much you are paid. This can be a hard concept for some individuals that are used to being paid by an hourly amount. One thing I've learned is that every amount adds up, so, I've had my fingers in many money making pies at the same time. If you have your doubts about a low paying per piece work position you can try it out and after a while figure out how much money you are making in an hour with it based on your personal speed of completing the tasks. You can be surprised by what you find from this.
When you are evaluating a new job look to see how much they pay, when they pay, how they pay, and if they have a minimum payout. I've found that I've been able to keep up with my budget by knowing which jobs I need to work at a certain time to be paid at a certain time. Keeping an open mind and your options open especially when starting off in the WAH world can really pay off. There are some low paying positions that you are able to get quickly and others that have a waiting list. Utilizing several streams of income can be very helpful I have found, but isn't for everyone. However, it is one way to stave off being completely broke before a higher paying position becomes available or your business idea flies true and starts providing you with the income you need.
