Welcome to Why I WAH

When I was thinking of an appropriate name for my blog, I decided on Why I WAH for the simple reason that I'm not only trying to be successful at working from home, but I want to help others do the same. It is not always easy to work from home no matter what anyone says. You have to have the drive and dedication to getting the job finished. Many times you will not have a boss breathing down your neck to finish an assignment. So, you also have to think about why you want to WAH, as well, and hold that close to give you the perseverance to work at it.

History Lists

Yes, this reads History Lists as this is a website that provides lists of historical events, people and other history topics.  In order to get these lists, they need people to write them up.  This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get paid for doing something that interests them.  Even most people that think that they do not like history may find to their surprise that some interest that they have may relate to the subject of history.  Check out the website to get a feel for the type of lists they accept, and get some ideas for your own unique list to submit.

Payment from accepted lists are about ten to twenty dollars, and this figure depends on the length of items included as well as the length of the items and any additional work needs to be done to it for getting it ready to be published to the website.  Not every list will be accepted.  As with most ghostwriting, once the item is paid for and published it becomes the property of the website.

Lists will need to be 5 to 20 items long, and unique from other lists.  Each item should be at least 70 words to a maximum of 200 words.  The list must include an introduction.  It needs to be put into a .txt file, and emailed to contact@historylists.org with the subject line of History List Submission.
When sending your list, they ask that you include your PayPal address for payment if your list is accepted.  Keep in mind that the amount of money you earn can be lessened if they have to do a lot of proofing to get it ready, so be sure to check your spelling and grammar before sending it in to help maximize your payment if your list is accepted.

Pros –

  • Work your own hours
  • Pick your own topics
  • No limits mentioned on number of lists submitted

Cons-

  • No guarantee work will be published
  • No set payment amount
  • Little information on when payment is made, and what specific criteria used to determine which lists are accepted

I have not had a chance to submit my own list as I’ve been busy with other projects, but this is one that I really love.  Please leave a comment if you submit a list and the outcome of the list.  I will be sure to update everyone if I submit a list.
