It’s a new year, and that means everyone is starting strong
with their resolutions. I, myself, have
a few resolutions this year that I’m going to try to stick with them.
- The first is that I am going to try my best to make this one of my best years as a WAH freelancer. I really want to be able to help my family with our goals, like being able to take the kids on a dream vacation to Disney and upgrade to a new home in a better area with more space. Even better would be having enough money at the end of the month that I can budget some shopping therapy, trips to the arcade, and spa treatments into my month rather than just ensuring that my bills are covered.
- The second is that I really want to finish my book. It’s easy for that to be placed on the wayside when I’m trying to focus on paying jobs. The key will be scheduling. It can be hard with everything going on in a person’s life. Who knew that a son entering Kindergarten would royally mess up my schedule? That’s just one of the things that a freelancer needs to be able to roll with the punches. I’m finally getting to the point where it’s not as much as an issue, but I need to up my game.
- The third and final work related resolution is that I am going to be better on posting to my blog. I have some great opportunities just waiting to be shared with what I’ve found over the past year that I haven’t been posting.
Be on the lookout for my next blog post, but while you are
waiting if you haven’t had a chance to work on some 2014 resolutions or only
focused on your personal life think about some resolutions that might be
worthwhile to have on the career front.
As a freelancer, the only person that will be concerned about your
career path, yearly salary and other career topics is you!
