Etsy.com is a marketplace for individuals that make jewelry, crafts or artwork at home. Etsy is similar to eBay for selling your items, but it is different as it is only for handmade goods and similar items. For instance, if you knit or crochet you can list your items on Etsy.com and find buyers for them. It is similar to eBay in that you make a post of your item with a description, and a picture for others to find during a search for that type of item or just general browsing. Etsy has very reasonable selling fees which can really make it more popular for selling your home made goods there rather than on eBay. Be sure to look the website over to see what other crafters that sell items like the ones you make are selling and what prices they are asking for. This can help you determine how to list your items, how much you should price them for and other information you can apply to your own posts. I have not personally used Etsy yet, but I am a crafter at heart. It can just be hard to get time to work on the things I enjoy. If anyone has any experience with Etsy please feel free to comment for others.
One stay at home mother’s guide to navigating the world of WAH (a.k.a. work at home) opportunities with over 15 years experience and still learning.
Welcome to Why I WAH
When I was thinking of an appropriate name for my blog, I decided on Why I WAH for the simple reason that I'm not only trying to be successful at working from home, but I want to help others do the same. It is not always easy to work from home no matter what anyone says. You have to have the drive and dedication to getting the job finished. Many times you will not have a boss breathing down your neck to finish an assignment. So, you also have to think about why you want to WAH, as well, and hold that close to give you the perseverance to work at it.
