Welcome to Why I WAH

When I was thinking of an appropriate name for my blog, I decided on Why I WAH for the simple reason that I'm not only trying to be successful at working from home, but I want to help others do the same. It is not always easy to work from home no matter what anyone says. You have to have the drive and dedication to getting the job finished. Many times you will not have a boss breathing down your neck to finish an assignment. So, you also have to think about why you want to WAH, as well, and hold that close to give you the perseverance to work at it.

Use Your Voice to Make $10.00 a Video With Study.com

Sorry for the long hiatus, things get busy, and my blog tends to fall by the wayside.  I do have a nice list of opportunities that I need to write up, so more will be coming down the pipeline.  Today’s blog is a fun one.  There are so many different types of WAH opportunities available online that can be found.

You probably know this for yourself, but everyone has different learning styles when it comes to what helps them learn the best.  Study.com is a great website that has a lot of resources for students that are looking to better their education.  With the understanding that some people are more visual learners than reading a text, Study.com created online video lessons for their users.  They’re currently in the market for voice over artists to narrate their video lessons.  They don’t want someone that’s going to boringly narrate in a monotone voice but help to make it seem more interesting.

Their qualifications are relatively simple and include having good communication skills, having recording equipment, and being able to create high-quality audio that has no background noise in it.  Do you have what it takes?

Pros:
  • Work when you want
  • Pays bi-monthly
  • Earn $10 per video which is typically five minutes long
  • Active support system
  • Feel good about helping students
Cons:
  • Ad doesn’t specify what type of recording equipment
  • Ad doesn’t specify if you’re 1099 or an employee, but more than likely an independent contractor
  • Amount of work available not specified either

Overall, this sounds like a really neat opportunity.  I think getting to do voice overs is a nice change from some of the other online WAH opportunities.  If you’re thinking of doing this WAH opportunity, let us know in the comments below.  Already work with Study.com?  Don’t be shy, let us know how it’s going for you.
