Welcome to Why I WAH

When I was thinking of an appropriate name for my blog, I decided on Why I WAH for the simple reason that I'm not only trying to be successful at working from home, but I want to help others do the same. It is not always easy to work from home no matter what anyone says. You have to have the drive and dedication to getting the job finished. Many times you will not have a boss breathing down your neck to finish an assignment. So, you also have to think about why you want to WAH, as well, and hold that close to give you the perseverance to work at it.

Freelancing Opportunity for Veterans and Military Spouses - Happy Joe

I came across this company, and love the message that they have.  Veterans and military spouses deserve everything that they have coming to them and more.  WAH is a great lifestyle for military spouses that move around and veterans that want to freelance.  Happy Joe is a company that only accepts military veterans, active duty, and military spouses from the U.S. Armed Forces.  This status will need to be proven during the application process.

Freelance Skills Wanted

They are looking for "Joes" with the following skill sets: copywriting, graphic design, WordPress, website design, content writing, social media, web development, Google Adwords, email marketing, eCommerce, online marketing, and SEO.

Hiring Process

They are looking to hire the best of the best and note that they have a stringent and tough application process.  You'll apply, and then they'll review your application.  They will also schedule an online interview with you.  If they like what they see on your application and interview, they'll give you a contractor agreement to sign and will help you to get started.  Then, it's time to put in the work.

What I really like is that they give you feedback on why they didn't accept you so that you can try again in the future after you've addressed your weakness.  Plus, they give you access to training resources.

Pros

  • Great opportunity for active military, military spouses, and veterans
  • Wide variety of skills being hired
  • You set your own rates
  • No commissions paid on your end
  • Training offered for free
  • Free mentoring
  • Payment will be made through PayPal, credit card, or direct deposit
Cons:
  • Probably the main con is that this awesome opportunity is only for those in the active military, military spouses, and veterans.

Overall, I believe this is a great opportunity for anyone that falls within the requested range for being hired.  I love this concept.  Have you worked for Happy Joe?  Are you planning on applying?  Comment below and share your experience.
